A Southern California SCUBA Diving Club - est. 1965

The Sea Divers are a independent (501c3) nonprofit advanced recreational SCUBA diving club based in in Southern California.  We schedule about 11 boat dives a year on some of the best Southern California dive boats; the Peace, and the Giant Stride all of which include food and air fills in the price. We reserve bunks/staterooms for our members on all overnight and multi-day trips. We dive advanced and intermediate locations for the experienced diver that offer the best hunting and photographic opportunities found in Southern California and possibly the world.  See our trip schedule below for more details.

May 2. Don and Cathy Mueller recently spent a week diving in Belize. They stayed at the the Turneffe Atoll which is about 30 miles off the coast. The resort was Turtneffe Flats (link http://www.tflats.com ) which is a combination fishing, diving, and Eco touring resort. The Muellers spent all their time diving in and around the Atoll. This is a very lightly used area and the reefs are pristine and the marine life plentiful and diverse. The number of divers on the 35ft dive boat varied from 5 to 2. they put together a short video showing the resort and how to get there and mostly the diving the reefs, with the fish, small stuff, rays, sharks and eels of the atoll.

June 6. Ron Fonstad of the WAVES Project will be presenting to Seadivers once again to talk about exciting new things that have been developing over the last year, including affiliates, research partnerships and a PADI video highlighting one of our many success stories. www.wavesproject.org The WAVES Project provides an opportunity for American Veterans with service connected disabilities and their families to experience scuba diving. Each veteran and a dive companion of their choice can experience the freedom of scuba diving for free.

July 4. There is a meeting but no special program. Enjoy the holiday.

August 1. Peter Landecker  After a week of wreck diving in Chuuk Lagoon, Micronesia aboard the Thorfinn, he stayed on the boat for an additional three weeks as a volunteer diver with The Nature Conservancy collecting coral reef health data under the leadership of two researchers. He will relate his experiences and show visual images and videos he captured.  http://tinyurl.com/landecker Peter appears briefly in the video https://www.nature.org/photos-and-video/video/chuuk-micronesia-video-marketing.hcst

September 5. There is a meeting but no special program. Enjoy the Labor Day holiday.
